Musical Review
Billy Elliot the Musical (2005)                                                                                Cast: Ali Rasul, Anna-Jane Cassey, Ann Emery, Deka Walmsley, Kevin Wathen, Howard Crossley, Kay Milbourne & Simon Ray Havey.                             Director: Stephen Daldry
Stephen Daldry directs an amazing musical about the very well known film called Billy Elliot, a great story about a boy that fights for the dream of becoming a ballet dancer instead of becoming a boxer like his father wanted him to be. Stephen Daldry directs the musical with phenomenal music, acting, dancing, stunts, and a great storyline.
This musical is set in the mid-1980s in UK which is demonstrated through well-prepared scenery. Billy Elliot is the main character of this musical because of where great the amazing things he does throughout the course of it. The other characters also play important roles in the musical. Ali Rasul (Billy Eliot) didn’t like boxing, but when he started dancing ballet he realized it was his passion.  His dad (Deka Walmsley) didn’t want him to dance because he thought dancing was only for girls. Mrs. Wilkinson (Anna-Jane Cassey) was on Billy’s side and together they made everyone realize how great of a dancer he actually was. This changed his life forever.
Ali Rasul was an amazing and brilliant interpreter, he could do anything you can imagine he did stunts, danced, sang, and more. Anna-Jane Cassey was multi-talented, and everything she did was graceful and beautiful. These two actors are my favorite performers in this musical. They did a great job. Anna Emery did the grandmother role and she was awesome! She was older than most of the other actors but the beauty of her performance was inexplicable. She was also very funny.
Billy Elliot was an amazing musical.  It was very well prepared. My favorite aspects of the musical were the wide-range of talent from each actor and the stage’s ability to quickly change scenes. The costumes had many variety, there were big, small, large, short, narrow, wide and different colors, it was gorgeous, really loved it. The music by Elton John was great each word was relevant to the story. I disliked the length of the play because as the majority o the people goes to see it at a late hour most of them would probably fell asleep.
Aside from the amazing performance the story taught me that if you want something you need to fight for it.  Billy never gave up when his dad didn’t want him to dance ballet. He continued dancing because he loved it. I also learned that no one can force you to do something you don’t want to do because you have freedom to do as you wish.

I would recommend anyone to see this musical because it’s an inspiring musical for all ages. Probably there would be something little you are going to dislike but I’m sure there will always be something you’re going to like. It has a great variety of talent during all 3 hours including the interval.
